Colton Mirko Goucher

You never know when the absolute best day of your life is going to happen, but there are a few days that are supposed to be strong contenders for that title.

When I married Kara a little over nine years ago, I knew it was supposed to be one of the best days of my life, but I was not ready for just how incredible it would be!  It was more than I could have hoped for, and more than I expected.

Five days ago, I witnessed the birth of my son Colton Mirko Goucher.  I knew going in that this was going to be one of the most significant days of my life, but once again, the reality was so much more than I could have anticipated.  The flood of emotions overwhelmed me.  I did not know I could love someone I just met, so much!  As I held Colt for the first time, I was engulfed with adoration and affection for my wife and my new son.  It was an intensity of love I never want to forget and will use to fuel my desire to be the best father and husband I can be as we continue our lives together.

I wanted to share this short blog and a few photos, to share my excitement, and joy and to introduce you to my new son.

Everybody, this is Colton.  Colton, this is everybody!

Hello World!

I love my dad!

My mom is so cool!

I am four days old in this one!

Kara, I’m too much of a fan of anything but once I was asked to pick a role model, and I picked you! You inspired me in every single aspec, athletic, as a person and in a future I hope as a mother.
Congratulations on your new born and to the new stage of you lifes as a family of 3. May God bless always :)

    Hey guys,

Nick and I are both so happy for you. Colton is so cute! We welcomed our second girl on August 4th, Nora. Best wishes in your new addition and the transition into running again. I’m finding out the second time is a little harder, but I hope to be back at it soon! I can’t wait to see more photos. We are loving Boulder! Congratulations,

I remember when Dillon was born. When Melissa and I were married, I was all for mel and me and no baby- ever! I could not and would not hold a baby. No desire. The day Captain Squiggles was born, I was brought to my knees with emotion. I had thought I knew what love was. I loved my wife (still do), but wow when little Dillon not 10 sec old grabbed my finger, I KNEW love, and it flooded through me.

I share this , Adam, and Kara, because I am so happy for you, to be parents. What a truly remarkable blessing a child can be. Here is hoping for the greatest joys of your lives, and hoping that Colton has the energy that Dil has, so that he keeps you running night and day.

God Bless this family, and may His love shine on you and through you as you raise him, and finally may colton be a better eat it player than Adam :0)
