Three Running Games

Posted on

For those of you who can’t get enough of all things running, here are three online running video games sure to scratch that running itch while sucking valuable time away from everything else you should be doing!

Neither of us are big online gamers but for this week’s blog we had a lot of fun with three running games.  We tried each of them out, talked a little trash, and came up with the following reviews:

Run. by player_03 and Xela

This game is fast paced and addictive!  You are this little round Martian runner racing through a seemingly endless blue hallway suspended in outer space.  The little guy has pretty good running technique but he needs to weave and jump over missing panels in the hallway or fall into space!  If he runs into one of the walls, the hallway rotates which can be a good or a bad thing depending on what is coming.

Adam got to level 13 before Tim drop kicked his computer when he could not get past level 9!

Check it out here to see how far you can go!

Crazy Running

This game is an actual race between you and two computer avatars.  The first runner to cross the finish line wins, but you need to look out for oncoming cars, construction barricades, and other objects along the way.  You can drink what appears to be soda to get an energy boost which leads us to believe the makers of this game aren’t real runners.  Packets of Gu might have been more appropriate.

Adam is mad that he still can’t beat Tim’s best time of 1:35 because he always gets hit by the last wave of cars and can’t seem to avoid tripping over the barricades.

Click here to play and try to beat Tim’s best time.

100m Running

Just to prove that sprinting is not as much fun as long distance running, here is a game called 100m running.  You get to choose between four different runners and then try to run the 100m as fast as you can by mashing the forward and back arrows on you keyboard.  Tim did manage a 10.06 while Adam ran a pedestrian 10.80.  Neither of us liked the game enough to keep playing until we broke 10 seconds.  At least now we have an answer when people ask us our 100 time!

To try this game and become the next Usain Bolt, click here.

Overall, we didn’t play any of these games for more than 20 minutes but each of them gave us a good laugh and something to talk trash about.  Which one is best?  We both agree that 100m Running comes in a distant third, but Tim liked Crazy Running best while Adam identified more with the Martian.

Leave us your best times, scores, and game reviews in the comments below and then get out the door and go for a real run!

You put up running games and you didn’t mention QUOP?

    • Adam and Tim

Wow! I just tried QUOP and can’t make it past 2 meters! Can you do it? That game is super hard!

      • Ben Wach

hit O to get a little forward lean and then alternate QP and WO in cadence with your feet hitting the ground. beware of the hurdle at 50m…
I spend far too much time on running games…

    yeah qwop’s the best haha

just got 1:29 on crazy running. fun game.

    • Adam and Tim

You made it? Give us a hit and how to do it!

      • Ben Wach

keep a finger on the jump button at all times. best way around every obstacle pretty much is to jump it. only get soda cans when they’re convenient. it’s more important to not run into things (and who wants soda while they run anyway?). use the speed boosts as soon as you get them too.

Figure i might as well update for a 1:24

    • Ben Wach

      make that 1:22

      • Adam and Tim

I tried but I cannot beat that time! You are the champ!

        • Ben Wach

just lowered that to 1:20! haha
great game when there’s nothing to do.
